Tamko Ridge Vent Installation in Las Vegas, NV

Tamko Ridge Vent Installation: The Las Vegas Owner’s Guide

Tamko ridge vent installation in Las Vegas typically runs $380-$720 for a standard residential ridge, including removal of the failed vent, deck inspection, and proper sealing against our 110°F summer heat and wind-driven dust. We stock Tamko-compatible ridge vent profiles on every truck and can usually complete the job same-day. Most Las Vegas homeowners discover the problem during monsoon season, when wind-driven rain sneaks past a cracked or lifted vent, or they notice their attic feels like a furnace even after dark.

Which Tamko Models This Applies To

Tamko’s ridge vent systems pair with their Heritage, Heritage Vintage, Heritage IR, and Titan XT shingle lines. The critical match is the vent’s profile height to the shingle exposure; Heritage Vintage’s thicker dimensional profile needs a taller vent flange than standard Heritage, and forcing the wrong pairing leaves a gap that our summer winds will find within a season.

Check the shingle label strip under your attic sheathing or the original paperwork for the series name. The ridge vent itself carries a Tamko part number stamped on the underside flange, usually starting with “RV-” followed by width code. If you can’t locate it, measure the vent’s exposed width across the ridge and note the shingle thickness at the roof edge.

We carry both OEM Tamko ridge vents and a USA-made aftermarket equivalent that meets the same NFVA (Net Free Ventilation Area) specs. For most Las Vegas homes, the aftermarket performs identically; we only push OEM when the roof is under Tamko’s original warranty and the manufacturer requires it for claim eligibility. Ridgeline Roofing Co. of Las Vegas is an independent service provider, not affiliated with Tamko.

Signs Your Tamko Ridge Vent Installation Is Failing

  • Water stains on the attic ceiling directly below the ridge. The vent’s end cap seal or internal baffle has cracked, letting monsoon rain bypass the weather filter. In Las Vegas, UV exposure hardens the rubberized seals faster than in cooler climates, so a vent that lasted 15 years in Missouri may fail in 10 here.
  • Attic temperature stays above outdoor ambient after sunset. The vent’s internal baffles are clogged with dust or the nail flange has lifted, breaking the convection current that should exhaust hot air. Our valley’s fine caliche dust is particularly brutal on low-profile baffle designs.
  • Shingle granules collecting in the attic near the ridge. The vent was over-nailed or the flange warped from heat cycling, lifting the overlapping shingles and letting granules wash through during rare heavy rains.
  • Visible daylight through the vent from inside the attic. The mesh screen has deteriorated or the vent split along its seam, which also means wasps and roof rats now have an open door. We’ve found desert pack rat nests in ridge vents from Summerlin to Henderson.
  • Shingle cupping or premature curling within three feet of the ridge. Trapped heat and moisture from poor ventilation are cooking the shingles from underneath. This is often the first visible sign that the vent has been underperforming for two or more years.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Component Typical Range (Las Vegas)
Tamko-compatible ridge vent (per linear foot) $8-$14
Underlayment patch / ice & water shield $45-$85
Labor: removal, deck inspection, install $280-$520
Standard residential ridge (20-40 linear ft) $380-$720 total
Steep pitch or tile overlay (add) $120-$200

What drives the range: ridge length, whether the deck underneath needs patching from prior leaks, and pitch. We inspect the deck once the old vent is off; if it’s sound, we proceed. If there’s rot, we show you photos and quote the repair before cutting anything. The price we quote is the price you pay. Every Tamko ridge vent installation carries our 90-Day Done Right Promise, written and plain: if it leaks or lifts, we come back and make it right, no paperwork, no arguing.

DIY or Call Us?

There’s a safe middle ground here. A homeowner can check the attic for the symptoms above, note the shingle series name, and even measure ridge length from the ground with a tape and binoculars. That information saves us time and you money.

But ridge vent replacement means working at height on the roof’s highest, most exposed line, removing shingles without tearing them, and re-nailing with the precise tension that holds without cracking. Too loose and our spring winds lift it; too tight and the flange buckles, creating the exact leak you’re trying to fix. We don’t recommend DIY on this one. Our crews bring the right pneumatic staplers, the right sealants rated for 180°F surface temps, and the patience to do it once.

Call (866) 993-9765 and we’ll give you a straight estimate over the phone based on your ridge length and shingle type. Estimates are free, and most jobs finish in a single visit.
